Alesia Zhuk

Researcher on AI & International Law - PhD Law & Philosophy

Alesia is a legal scholar passionate about the intersection of law and emerging technologies. She holds a PhD from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, where her research focused on the legal regulation of blockchain, using the case of Kleros to explore its implications for legal systems. She is a fellow of the Hague Academy of International Law, where she investigates the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in international courts and tribunals. She continues this line of research at the Mila – Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute, with a focus on AI in international adjudication. Her broader research interests include AI regulation and governance, the intersection of AI and environmental issues, and the use of AI for social good. As a research fellow at Kleros, she focused on the application of natural language processing (NLP) to enhance online dispute resolution systems.
